Much like bad weather swept through the northwest the previous evening, Manchester City blew the visitors away at the their home ground. It was a statement three-nil victory for their manager's side due to goals from Knaak, Bunny Shaw and Hemp. It was a display that firmly established their leadership claims as they strengthened their standing at the league summit.

Consecutive Defeats for Manchester United

This scoreline represented successive WSL defeats for Skinner's side for the maiden instance since spring 2024, placing them seven points off the table toppers with their championship aspirations hanging by a thread.

United’s capability to manage league and European soccer with a small team has been a frequently analyzed issue since they qualified for the UCL. Considering the fixture list, it always felt like this was the matchday that would truly test this fortitude. Sadly for the opposition, they appeared tired all game, the landmark win against PSG clearly having left its mark.

Team Changes
